Obituary of Claudia Murphy

Mrs. Claudia Hazel Murphy, age 98 of Campbellsville died at her residence on August 12, 2016 surrounded by her children.

She was the daughter of the late Edward Bottoms and Virgie Ada Wethington of Adair County. She was a member of the Pine Grove Church and besides her parents was preceded in death by three sons, Carlton, Samuel and Gene Murphy, one grandson, Edward Lee Murphy, one great-grand-child Jamie Plant, one brother, Travis Pierce, three sisters, Natheleen Wethington, Edna Soares, and Flora Bottoms, three daughters-in-law, Phyllis, Jodi and Pam Murphy.

Mrs. Murphy is survived by one daughter and three sons, Janis Murphy, Durrell Murphy, Dale and Debbie Murphy all of Indiana and Keith and Cathy Murphy of Elkhorn. Nineteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and forty-four great-great grandchildren also survive along with one brother and one sister, James P. Bottom of Kansas, Margaret Anderson of Louisville and two daughters-in-law, Faye Murphy of Illinois and Shirley Murphy of Campbellsville. Several nieces and nephews also survive along with a host of friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Claudia Murphy were held at 11 AM Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Edwards and Father Lawman Chibundi officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Chapel Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Julie Murphy, Phillip Murphy, Jamie Murphy, Lucas Murphy, Chris Murphy, Josh Plant and Barry Stafford. Honorary pallbearers are Walter Murphy and members of the B Battery in Campbellsville.
