Eugene Allen “Mean Eye” Taylor, age 65, of Campbellsville died Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at his home in Campbellsville.
Eugene was born September 13, 1949 in Campbellsville, KY. He is the son of James A. Taylor of Greensburg and the late Anne Emma (Shively) Taylor.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as a cabinet maker for a number of years at Cox Cabinets as well as other local cabinet makers. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson and loved hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his grand kids.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Holmes Taylor; two sons, Richard Allen Taylor and his wife, Amy and Christopher Robert Taylor, and his wife, Donna; a daughter, Ashley Taylor and her boyfriend, Terry Thompson, all of Campbellsville; twelve grandchildren; his father, James A. Taylor; a brother, James Bradley Taylor and his girlfriend, Shirley, of Tennessee; two sisters, Linda Gayle Eversole and her husband, Buddy, of London, KY and Reva Dale Hudman, and her husband, Glen, of Sun Valley, Nevada; 3 children they raised, Maye Chastain, Anthony Chastain and Roger Dotson and special friends, Lonnie farmer, Shelly Adams and Anthony Gabehart.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 10th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home, Campbellsville with Bro. John Harold Giles and Bro. Jimmy Garner officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Campbellsville.
Serving as pallbearers are Glenn Holmes, J.T. Holmes, Danny Lotter, George Hayden, Steve Underwood and Larry Bright.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home, Campbellsville, KY.
